Old Wye Mill Art Auction

The highest weekly bid will be posted each Friday during the auction

Current bid is:  $260

The Old Wye Mill was established in 1682 and is the oldest water-powered grist mill in continuous operation in the United States. The Mill is owned and managed by Friends of Wye Mill, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. As a fundraiser, Friends of Wye Mill, Inc. is conducting an Online Auction of the beautiful 8" x 10" painting of the Old Wye Mill, painted by Chris Newlund from Columbus, Indiana, during the 2017 Plein Art Festival in Easton, Maryland, and donated to the Old Wye Mill. Funds generated by the auction of the painting will be used to continue our mission to preserve the Old Wye Mill as a cultural, technical, and historic jewel from our Maryland past.

The auction will open on Sunday, November 1, 2020, and will remain open until Friday, December 11, 2020. There will be a $100.00 minimum reserve placed on initial bidding. Bidders may submit their bids as often as they like by sending an email to oldwyemill@gmail.com with your bid, the date of your bid, full name, address, email address, and phone number. A weekly announcement of the current highest bid will be placed on the Old Wye Mill website - www.oldwyemill.org - each Friday while the auction is open. Minimum increases in the bid may be no lower than $20.00 per bid.

Please note: The auction is for the painting only. The frame pictured below is photography superimposed on the photograph of the painting and is used for visualization purposes only.
